Excited! To Vote!

November 2nd, 2008 at 11:24 am

It's early Sunday morning and I have to leave for work soon (work 7-3 today) but I feel posty and EXCITED to vote in 2 days!

I won't go into my politics but I am EXCITED to vote and I watch Rachel Madddow regularly so one might be able to infer my candidate is .... well, you know.

I am addicted to the polls and all the cable news channels, you could say I've developed a healthy obsession. Healthy in that after Tuesday I will resume my regular life and not hang on every word of every pundit and every poll!

Whoever your candidate is please go vote on Tuesday or Monday if you can. I have decided to wait until the 4th just because it's such a historic election and I want to feel a part of everything! I know this doesn't have much to do with money directly but indirectly it does. I feel confident in my candidate to help change this economy. I also am a strong believer in some sort of universal health care...I know I might get blasted for saying that but it's just how I feel.

Well everyone, have a good Sunday. I hope it is a day of rest for most...it will be for me after 3pm!

Remember to VOTE VOTE VOTE your heart and your dreams!

I voted already! I do not feel good about this election at all.

i'm very excited about this election, too, and certainly intend to make my vote count. It can ONLY get better from here. What a mess this country is in.

I'm antsy to vote, too, but we don't have early voting here and I didn't get around to requesting an absentee ballot in time. So... I put off starting my full-time hours til after the election. I didn't want to end up waiting in a long line and having to leave for work, or else having to wait in a long line after working a full day. I pity the election workers this year!

I'd say I can't wait to vote either, but really I just can't wait for the political ads to STOP! I get so sick of the negativity. I have my mind made up and have for quite a while so I almost have tuned out the "he says, she says" baloney. (But I will truly miss the Saturday Night Live skits that have been just fantastic this year.)

This is such a historic election, and naturally I hope my candidate wins, but I have to agree that either way it really CAN'T get worse...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I'm taking a folding canvas chair with me. Don't know how long I can stand on my feet without walking. Thank goodness we expect good weather because, at my polling place, one stands out in the weather if there are more than about thirty people ahead. We have some important referendums, too. Y'all know Starbucks has free coffee Tues for anyone who mentions they voted?

Good Luck guys !! I'm happy with the optimism for a healthy turn-out at this election - thats what a democracy is all about.

I can feel your excitement !! Make no mistake.. the eyes of the whole World will be on the USA next week....

Over here in Europe, we are feeling economic chills as well..... We are looking to the next resident of the White House to bring a new perspective, a new way of doing things and some confidence to global matters.....

It is SO important for the entire Western World that the President of the USA be a positive force for improvement rather than an unmitigated disaster area.

    Good Luck !!

apprentice, I so agree with you! It's nice to know the world realizes the importance and historical significance of this election. Tomorrow I am knocking on doors with my brother-in-law to "get out the vote." At present, I am filled with nervous anxiety, anticipation, happiness, dread etc! Cannot wait!

Isn't it wonderful that you are feeling these feelings about an Election !!

I mean people have got so disillusioned/cynical about politics recently. The child-like wide-eyed optimism that is swelling up in the USA is a WONDERFUL thing to behold !! :-)

    Thank you all

I'm voting on Tuesday. Yay, finally! Maybe my guy, Mr. O, will win. King County has only one early voting spot. I saw a TV commercial for Starbucks advertising a free (tall = small) cup of coffee for any voter on Nov 4.

    offer is on their homepage
Text is http://www.starbucks.com/ and Link is

baselle, I think your guy is my guy. Wink I vacillate between elation and dread. One minute I think he will win and the next I'm not so sure. DH is very cynnical with me being a little more optimistic. I cannot wait to exhale and either way I'll cry...just hope it's tears of joy!

I vacillate too. It helps not to watch the opposite cable news show. Rhymes with socks snooze. What I really vacillate about is with all the crap who would want the job? On the other hand it will be nice to not have to see the freakin' monkey (and his handler) doing the job.

Rachel Maddow is a cutie. It's nice to see one can have a partisan bias and still be civil to everyone.

This is the first time in awhile I've felt a major-party candidate could really improve things around here!!!

Wish me luck getting the vile Norm C. out of office in MN!

I voted on October 14, but I'm happy to see an enthusiastic voter here! I am having free Starbucks courtesy of work. I agree with Apprentice Fun-Frugalist in that the rest of the world is paying attention and is keeping its fingers crossed for positive change.

I am thrilled about this election. I only wish i had time to volunteer in the camapign. I'm lucky to be working at home today so i can choose my time to vote when i think it's least crowded, and i'm guessing that'll be early afternoon. We don't have early voting in CT unfortunately.

I can hardly wait. I will be glued to the TV tonight. What a thrill..................

I voted this morning and then for 4 hours did some volunteering in my county...drove to peoples homes, encountered mean dogs and dealt with a sore foot. I walked miles yesterday canvassing and talking to STILL undecided voters. My left foot is wrapped in gauze but I don't care. It is all worth it. I'm back to the dem. headquarters later this afternoon for last minute phone calls and then it's off to PARTY! I too will be glued to the television! OMG! I am so nervous!!!!

when do you find out the results??? i am curious to know, living in australia. Smile
also, i still find it odd that voting isnt compulsory in america. it is here.

studies have shown that among those who say they are "undecided" (aka, i don't care enough to learn about the candidates) about half end up never voting.
