Clutter update

January 2nd, 2009 at 08:35 am

We worked hard today on our clutter problem. In the kitchen I organized one cupboard using baskets to store our medications/vitamins in. I probably threw out more bottles than I kept.

We also cleaned the stove top and wiped down all the cabinets. M. shampooed the carpets in E.'s room, the living room and the den.

Tomorrow we will attack our bedroom. We will be moving all the furniture to sweep and shampoo the carpet.

My spending has been out of control due to buying pizza and cleaning supplies...along with paying my cousin 45.00 to help me. But it was totally worth it.

She is a college student and is always in desperate need for money so if I was going to pay someone to help me clean at least it was to someone I love!

Good job! I usually do that over the holidays but not yet this year. It's still a good January task. I plan to clean out my email at work today, that always feels very good to get done. I did clean out and organize my home emails over the holidays - man, was that needed!

Oh...I'm so excited for you! I used an 8x8 pan in our kitchen cabinet for meds. It does keep them tidy. I also have a plastic shoebox in a linen closet for one's we tend to need upstairs.

Containers help tremendously to keep like things together. Keep up the good work!

You are very encouraging and have done a great job in getting on top of one of your priorities. We took down the inside and outside decorations from Xmas and that always starts my year off good. I couldn't do very much because I have had the flu. But there's always something you can do when you are inside even if it's going through magazines.

It so helps to have a helping hand. I am on a similar plan for the weekend, except I have no help. DH is sick and he is good at decluttering. He stays focused much better than I do.
